China

Lands change hands,
inviting rapers violation of virginity
Soils choke on corporate greed,
corruptions rampant
Earthly bowels spew up steel and concrete abhorrence
Skeletons rise up screaming out their presence

Bamboo scaffolds line ugly frames
of man-made jungles
Crude plastic sheets cover their obscene naked forms
Flimsy nylon ripples with sadness,
flagging mother nature away
Thirty dollar a day villagers sell their souls to eat

Hardened faces accept the fate brought by machines
Industrialisation laughs loudly at their forced plight
Salty tears dissolve into governmental progress
of a cancelled era
Jubilous bankers spread modernization
through electronic tellers

Grassy meadows are stained by cartels stinking faeces
Beasts of burden surrender their flesh
to the feasting gluttons
Municipal mazes sprout commercial lanes
to carry automation
Villages disappear,
devoured by Mega Tsunami's massive concrete wave

China now evolves into a global model of invitation
World leaders grovel at the feet of money mountain
Cautious eyes study foreign investment,
searching for continuity
Sleeping Dragon awakens
reborn into a powerful new future.
