Chinese New Year is a profitable time of year for kids as it is traditional for them to receive little red packets full of money.  Here is another treat from Dimsum - a couple of posters for you to download - to colour in or not.

There's so much to do in London this Chinese New Year fortnight here is a rundown of the major events this year!

  1. Chinese New Year - Trafalgar square.  London celebrates on 21st February with the traditional dragon and lion dances as well as performers from around China.  This is also and opportunity to sample the best of Chinatown from the many stalls on display.

  3. The Confucius Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine will be holding a series of shows from 13th Feb to 16th Feb (no crafts or games on 14th) from 1130 to 5pm.  The shows will comprise of Chinese dance, martial arts and story telling plus some arts and crafts thrown in!

  5. The National Maritime Museum - Greenwich, will be holding a series of celebrations, performances, workshops and activities on 18th February in conjunction with the Greenwich Chinese Community School.  No booking required and performances run between 11.30 to 1600.

  7. The Museum of Docklands - from 6th February to 21st February will be running a series of events to celebrate Chinese New Year.  Explore the museum's galleries to find out more about the development of the Chinese Community in London and the history of trade between the UK and China.
