Dimsum celebrates the Year of the Ram with a look at the symbols,traditions and rituals associated with this festival. We also find out how Chinese people are celebrating their New Year throughout the UK, and tell you how to get involved with performances, workshops and celebrations that will be on throughout the festival.

Dimsum also takes a look at how different groups of people will be celebrating Chinese New Year. In the final installment from our students in China, we get an insight into how they and their families will be celebrating the New Year together. We find out how Ruth, our contributor, gets on with her first Chinese New Year as part of a Chinese family.

Later on in the month, we also join up with Haslingden Primary school school to see how children in Rosendale, Lancs., discover and celebrate the Chinese festival.
