 C Star (Chinese Star) is a singing competition aimed at individuals in the UK with who think they’ve got what it takes to become an international superstar. We’re the first to look for a talent from the UK to break into the fast-growing music industry in China through the nationwide talent show audition. The winner of the competition will work with music industry professionals, record an EP, which will be released in UK, Europe, and in China, Star in your own Music Video, and have a team of people promoting your musical career!
C-Star 2007 C-Star was an exciting and the largest nationwide singing competition and video talent show in the British Chinese community, judged by industry professionals, which led to a professional music career for the contestants.
The competition consisted of:
• Over 700 auditions spread over 4 major cities in the UK.
• More then 1 million profile hits on the C-Star website.
• Live shows with celebrity performances
• Over 1200 live spectators
• An interactive entertainment program, available online 24 hours a day, with a weekly average audience of over 200,000 viewers.
• Public participation by Phone In and SMS votes, which decide the results.
• An event that fuses together the best of eastern and western culture.
• An attracting event for Chinese people coming from different regions: Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and local British Chinese.
• Reported and featured by all major UK Chinese press and media, including reports from BBC, Big Issue and Music Week.

Application Guidance
1. C-Star supports the concept of "Singing Is Believing", anyone passionate about music, can sing in English and Mandarin and be of Chinese origin, are welcome! (Please note: no bands are allowed, no instruments will be provided, you may bring along an acoustic instrument, and friends and family for support.)
2. We are already accepting applications. The deadline to hand in your application is 26th March 2009. (Please note: applicants should be above age of 16. Anyone under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by a guardian during the competition)
