Where : Abbey National Headquarters, plc, Triton Square, Euston (Warren Street Tube)
Vigil Time : 11.45am – Service 12noon in Church –Prayer’s 12.40pm, St Anne’s Catholic Church, Laxton Place, London NW1 3TT. Outside Abbey

Richard Chang, an IT business analyst for Abbey National plc, tragically died in the building, plunging 5 floors, after an internal meeting on 13 July.  During the meeting he was questioned about a document that was sent to Abbey. The documents alleged financial misappropriation, fraud and sexual impropriety.  The document implicated a selection of senior staff and consultants.

The family, friends and supporters believe that instead of suicide, Richard died under suspicious circumstances and are fighting for an independent report. To commemorate his death, they will travel to Abbey's headquarters to pay their respects on 13th July 2007.

Join the family campaign and vigil for a service at the Catholic church opposite Abbey and prayers outside the building where Richard fell.

pensggs - bullying & harassment in the b Posted 14:13 on 6 July 2007
It is about time the corrupt and incestious structure of the banking management and banking trade union management structure should be exposed.

The banking trade union is an internal union not subjected to the usual rules of selection of any normal trade union.

The senior management of the ex building societies is almost like a 'old boys club'. Tramp up charges were normal if the 'boys' club together against any 'errant' member or outsider.

This case smells the same as when I took one 'building society' on in the 1990s; except to get on with life, I settled; and sign a 'silence' statement.

penseggs, can you elaborate further on your case? What fraudulent activities they did, how you went about retaliating and how eventually you settled?

And as far as I'm concerned, agreements to keep quiet are redundant if the fallout is more disruptive for said building society.
Michael Stephen Nolan - Apparent suicide of Richard Ch Posted 14:52 on 14 August 2007
The tragic death of Eichard Chang is a very sorry event for all his family. It is regrettable that Abbey National Plc were not dealt with along with their auditors Coopers & Lybrand for proven fraud of £64 million. I am not familiar with the allegations made in this matter but am fully aware of what I proved in court years ago. Abbey National Plc threatened me and lost large sums. They defied the court and also lied to my MP. I emigrated from England to Eire last year.
Jacqueline Stretton-Chang - Truth and Justice for Richard Posted 22:21 on 15 August 2007
As Richard's youngest sister I feel very strongly that it is very important not just for the family but the public that the truth relating to our dear brother's death be revealed.
The lack of disclosure by the Metropolitan Police is preventing the family establishing the true facts relating to his untimely and violent death. I think it is quite shocking that the Metropolitan Police have now told us that they are unable to reveal vital documents relating to their investigation because of a commercial confidentiality agreement with Abbey National.
We are calling upon the community to support our campaign. See our website www.justice4richard.co.uk

Why is this case not on 'Public Interest' programmes on the BBC or the ITV, e.g. Panorama?
Michael Stephen Nolan - Comments made since mine of th Posted 13:18 on 20 August 2007
Lord Burns, Chairman of Abbey National Plc had applied for the position of Chairman of the BBC. On the 1st March 2004 I received my acknowledgent for job at the BBC. On the 2nd March 2004 I wrote various comments on the letter from the DCMS. Abbey National Plc were finished as a result of defying a court order of the 6/12/95 and taken over by Banco Santander. The proven fraud of 64 million pounds on 1128 properties was aslo stated in court on the 11th March 1996 against Christopher Samuel Tugendhat (Lord Tugendhat) the then Chairman of Abbey National Plc. The FSA and SFO and SEC - USA are useless as are also the CIA and FBI (re Enron).
I saw people live on TV in England commit suicide on the 11th September 2001 from the Twin Towers in New York when there was prior warning on the 5th September 2001 and it should have been prevented. They were more worried about Enron though.
Valerie Chang - Campaign and Corrupt Banks Posted 1:47 on 23 August 2007
Campaigning is the voice of the ordinary citizen, with the case, the family and friends are up against a David and Goliath situation. If anyone wants to help volunteer, donate funds, contact valeriechang106@hotmail.com.
Remember soon after Richard died, the bank was sold to Banco Santender and the Directors involved with the investigation either got promoted or left. During my campaign, I have met many Abbey National customers, who complain about Abbey and monies going missing. Write to your MP, check out the website, http//:justice4richard.co.uk

Michael Stephen Nolan - Richard Chang premature death Posted 13:45 on 25 August 2007
With regard to my comment posted on the 20th August 2007 I can further update that people from Washington DC - USA met with me at Dublin Airport - Eire.
Our main topic of discussion was a film project I will be doing as they liked my trailer. My report to the Serious Fraud Office SFO 3/C/920 regarding proven fraud by Abbey National Plc/Coopers & Lybrand of £64 million is of interest as was what happened to Richard Chang. I have lost contact with the Chang family and so will say how sorry I am for their loss of Richard.
Michael Stephen Nolan - Richard Chang - Premature dea Posted 14:18 on 8 September 2007
The problem I had with Abbey national Plc / Coopers & Lybrand is now with parties interested in the breakup of PriceWaterhouseCoopers and not believing their figures for any company. Investors are nervous and the premature death of Richard Chang looks unlikely to have been suicide. I am in touch with Valerie Stretton - Chang again. Cover-ups do not last forever.
Ben Chia - Corrupted People Posted 11:27 on 21 June 2008
Who said there are no corruptions & frauds in this country? Malaysia, Thailand may be corrupted, but we do it openly. The quiet ones are dangerous. I am not a banker or finance person, but there are high level people who would want to get rich over night. SPEAK OUT is being encourage in a lot of companies now. The Natwest 3 are caught!
How far can you go? KEEP FIGHTING AND DON'T GIVE UP.
