Due to the current economic downturn manyyoung people are worried they don't have the necessary work experience orskills with which to enter their chosen career path and as a result havedeveloped a loss of self-esteem. The Chinese Youth Volunteer Project canprovide them with a platform to build up their confidence and skills and enablea better future.

Chinese Youth Volunteer Project has nowbeen running for a year with our volunteers running several successfulcommunity events. To celebrate the project's 1st Year Anniversary and the launchof the project website, we have organised a special day to celebrate on the 24thJune.

Wewould like to invite you to join us at our Chinese Youth Volunteer Project 1stYear Anniversary Celebration, where we will also launch our new Youth Projectwebsite and recruit new volunteers! Programmes on theday include awards ceremony, two short dramas, free refreshments and anopportunity to find out more about the project.

ChineseYouth Volunteer Project is one of the projects run by the Chinese Mental HealthAssociation and it will be running until March 2011.  The project is funded by vinvolved(www.vinspired.com). CMHA was established in 1992 and is a charity dedicated to providing community based mental-healthassistance and support to the growing Chinese community in the UK.

 

Those who join our youth project have theopportunity to develop skills and knowledge through organising events andprojects as well as receive recognition for their efforts in the form of V50award and National Youth Volunteer Certificates which is recognised nation-wideby employers.
