Instant Art Exhibition
Hong Kong artist Marzo To exhibits at the Brunei gallery of SOAS, University of London, Russell Square, London.

"Taking a break from my oil paintings, whilst still try to hold on to originality and memories, my project is an experiment about new relations among art, the artist, and daily lives. Balanced dangerously between a critique on modern life and politics, and simply a passive reflection of fleeting phenomena, my project, "Instant Art", is an attempt to reach a different synthesis between art and the self." Marzo To

For the first time traditional Chinese rice papers-hand scrolls, hanging scrolls are used to feature modern pictures composed with a mixture of the latest technology and traditional brush-work, the result is a surprising mixed media of digital pictures and painting.

Marzo To, fascinated by paradoxical phenomenon has chosen this unique media to illustrate the confusion resulting of the mixture of culture, pop culture vs classical formats, the mixture of times and their latest technology vs the traditional way to carry wisdom from generation to generation.
