The Overseas Chinese film festival is to be held in Glasgow in October and November 2002. The film season has been designed as a unique opportunity to create stronger ties between Glaswegian society and its local Chinese community. By providing an easy and appealing introduction to Chinese cinema the festival aims to breakdown barriers and enhance the profile of Chinese culture. Keep checking out Dimsum throughout the period of October and November as we bring you interviews and articles about films made and for the British Chinese community. We bring you exclusive interviews from actor and director, David Yip; British Chinese artist Pamela So and from Dimsum’s favourite filmmaker Shane O’Sullivan. Dimsum will be interviewing the festival organisers, the filmmakers and reviewing the films at this festival, giving you an insight into this small but fascinating industry. Dimsum sees this film season as an exciting and pioneering event for the promotion of cultural diversity in the UK, and we look forward to supporting the SCA build upon this project for a larger film season in 2003. In the mean time, we would love to get your comments and feedback on this issue.
