I'm into cult (not the sacrificing of virgins on a midsummers eve, but that sound good also...), and one of my fave series was Farscape. It's about an American pilot who gets lost in space, bands up with renegade aliens and has lots of adventures. The script writing is brilliant, but you really have to watch it in sequence as it plays out like a story so you have to know A before B.

As for films, Princess Mononoke is my favourite manga. It tells the tale of a boy who acts as the grey between the black and white views of the warring factors, which in this case is nature vs technology. Its very beautiful to watch and is translated well from japanese into english by Neil Gaiman. It might be a bit slow to watch though, as their are some big and slow moving speeches to be made.

My favourite live action film is Sixth sense, but theres no use describing that because you've either seen it, or I might spoil a rather good story :)

I like many films and programmes but one of the ones I like the most is 'Sexy Beast'

Its a typical 'East End' gangster movie where an ex convict sets off to live in Spain with his wife to get away from the life of crime.

If you take a look on www.cdwow.com, there are tons of DVD's etc for bargain prices! and all with the postage free!

One of my fave films is Tremors. It's a monster movie about a Small US town that gets attacked by underground 'Graboid' monsters. If you're looking for a fun B-type movie you might like it.
Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward are the main heroes playing two handyman who get caught up in all the trouble.

Fave TV show is Frasier which is very witty. If you didn't know already it's about a psychiatrist who lives in Seattle and has a radio show. He also lives with his dad Martin and has a younger brother Niles who's also a psychiatrist.

Ta for the replies - I have added Farscape to my DVD collection as well as anime from Studio Gibli - I have Porco Russo, a wonderful story about a fighter pilot who is cursed with the face of a pig, and Spirited Away - a story about a girl whose parents get turned into pigs by a vengeful witch and the girls tries to save them. I haven't got Princess Mononoke as yet, but hope to buy it for Christmas.

My brother is a massive fan of Frasier - he thinks the Frasier character is fantastic - a shrink with masses of insecurities and a chip on his shoulder!

God - I'm gonna be skint this year.................;)

Fantastic work Mr scratchings. Hope you're enjoying Farscape. Although you'll be sad to hear in ends on a bit of a bum note because they cancelled it after they filmed the last episode.

I haven't seen either Porco Rosso or Spirited away yet, but I will. But definitely make an effort to get Pricess Monoke, it is a fantastic tale! Try getting the Neil gaiman translated one, he's done a very good job on it, as have the voice actors (Gillian Anderson, Minnie Driver, etc.)
