Thanks.

This 1 hr. 8 mins documentary of the making of this opera is amazing. Much of this is about the creative effort of the music behind Monkey's Journey to the West debuted at the Manchester International Festival.

I find that the above BBC's site ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/topics/china ) truly very useful and helpful indeed - sort of a 'one-stop' site to enable one to get to visit many links for up-to-date news and articles on China.

I am looking forward to watching the forthcoming BBC Two's ducumentary entitled 'Biggest Chinese Restaurant in the World', which will be shown on 4th August 2008 at 11.20 p.m. Should be interesting, I hope.

Unless this is another program to do with another big Chinese restaurant in China, it has already been shown before as i have watched it.

It was interesting, but it sparked some controversy in one of the scene involving a duck. Don't want to include spoiler in this post so i shall say no more. Smile

MONDAY 4TH AUGUST 22.30 BST - BBC TWO
FROM GAVIN ESLER

Hello,

Tonight
We're devoting all of Newsnight tonight to the biggest story of this week, this month and probably of this century - China.

In a special report "What does the World think of China" we've commissioned an opinion poll showing how China is regarded from the United States and Britain to South Korea and Latin America.

I'll debate the findings with a distinguished panel of guests from Beijing, New York, Brazil, India and Africa as well as here at home.

Is China more of a threat than a possible ally? How far are Chinese people truly oppressed? How sensitive are ordinary Chinese people to criticism of their country?

Tell us what you think on the Newsnight Blog.

That's Newsnight at 10.30 pm on BBC 2.

Saw and find it quite interesting 'The Culture Show Goes to China' on BBC Tv last night (4th August).

The programme featured artists, fashion designers, photographers, musicians, architects (in Beijing and Shanghai) who are shaping the fastest changing culture in the world. To watch the programme, log onto:

Wow ... what an impressive debut made by Marc Yu (known as 'Little Mozart') in the BBC Proms on Sunday (31st August) with Lang Lang at the Royal Albert Hall, London.

Marc Yu is only 9 years old and he has made history by becoming one of the youngest musicians ever to appear at the Royal Albert Hall throughout the Proms'114 years history. And, I am pretty sure you are going to hear a lot more of this young kid in years to come.

"The Boxer Rebellion"
Saw the above in www.bbc.co.uk/topics/china
------------------------------------------------------

" Timewatch (BBC Two) exclusively reveals the dramatic true story behind the Boxer Rebellion in 1900, when Imperial troops and Chinese rebels laid siege to the diplomatic quarter in Beijing. Told throught Chinese sources and the diaries and memoirs of the outnumbered European defenders, the seige helped to bring down the imperial monarchy, precipitating a century of destruction, revolution and ultimate renewal ".
