When I have sent money to China previously I have used Western Union but I consider this to be too expensive for regular payments.

Do any Chinese banks have branches in the UK?

Are there any other ways of sending money cheaply (and safely!).

Chinatown in London has it's own branch of HSBC (on Gerrard Street) and I'm sure they do transfers like this all the time. The is also a Bank of China (I think) on Shafstbury Avenue.
