Chinese in Ireland

I am a quarter Chinese (if that is possible) and am trying to develop links with the Chinese community in Ireland - I work here in Dublin in a cultural diverse related museum which includes Chinese arts and crafts.
The only thing is I am finding it tricky to build up contacts etc. As I don't speak Chinese this may be a downfall. I also know this is a difficult question, but do you have any suggestions? Any tips?

The rules for making friends are the same no matter wot u are or where u are in the world. I have lived in other countries and have found no problems with making friends.

1- put up notices in Chinese hang out areas stating u want pple to correspond with.

2- go on websites that match ur area of interest and make friends that way. U can then decide if u want to meet later.

3- ask friends and family to help u meet chinese pple - someone will know at least one chinese person.

4- get a part-time job in a Chinese hang out place or Chinese student place. Lots of friends can be had this way.

5- Put up ads offering to teach English in exchange for Chinese for free. Lots of peeps will be up for this one.

6- if ur confidence, go up to pple and introduce urself

we recently received an email from an Irish Born Chinese girl who has set up a web blog here: http://irishbornchinese.kaykays.com/

she says, 'Mine is still the only IRish Born Chinese site, I hope more will join me.. it's
a bit lonely here.'

Perhaps you could hook up?
