Hi
Does anyone know how I can start to search for a cantonese speaking carer for my father? He is 82, and I am looking for someone to accompany him on days out etc. They live in the Kent area.

You might like to try asking somebody from the Camden Chinese Community Centre. I don't have their contact details so you will have to search for it yourself.

Although they are based in Camden / Russell Square, I know that their members and volunteers come from quite far away too. You might be in luck if somebody who lives nearby in Kent is able to help.

They do have a service that helps the elderly but most of the people are volunteers so the continuity of the service they provide may not be as good as volunteers' personal schedules and circumstances change.

Worth a chat with them anyway to see what they might be able to do for you.
