The latest poll conducted by You Gov shows startling change in public's attitudes towards Global Warming:-

Article with a link to make a pledge at the end

People in UK have got the message, and they are doing something in their daily life.

Lots of links in this article

This makes my day!

Very Happy

The global warming nonsense a belief lacking the scientific data to back it up.

would science label pple 'global warming deniers' suggesting dissenters are the moral equivalent of the holocaust deniers?

I will not waste my time on this until I see more than greenwash propaganda.

Porkscratching,

The implications of your message is truly stunning. Such amazing revelations!

How did you arrive at such amazing conclusions? Is it because you have a bigger head than everybody else?

You better tell the world about this, in particular, the chief scientists of the US, UK, EU, Germany, France, China, . . .

And of course, you must tell all those stupid presidents and prime ministers of the G20 that they are acting on the advice of fools.

The world depends on you, Porkscratching Very Happy

Personal attacks are the weapons of those who are themselves blind. Does the Red Guards ring a bell?

It isn't very clever for the environmentalists to move the decimal point 4 places to the right to make global warming more serious than it really is.

Pple should make decisions based on the truth.

And no, I'm not the smartest guy around - just someone who actually bothers to read the data. A group of pple all agreeing to something doesn't make it true.

Porkscratching,

If you find the data so compellingly wrong, don't you think all the chief scientists of every nation in the world would also arrive at the same conclusion?

They do have access to the best scientists of every nation you know.

But then, I'm only a mathematics graduate. Who am I to judge Very Happy

As a maths grad, do u not look at the data? Or do u just go with whatever's popular?

I work in a job processing large datasets, and have to prove my arguments b4 my reports can be submitted to senior folk. I use a lot of maths to do this. If someone gave me an opinion - I'd want to see the data so I can go thru it myself or ask more knowledgeable colleagues to do it.

The chief scientists in every nation do not reach the same conclusion - u've only read one half of the argument. I have read both sides. How else would I know about the fudging of the figures by moving the decimal point?

Once upon a time most pple thought that smoking was safe - the govt scientists all seemed to agree. Until the truth came out about the link between smoking and cancer. it turned out that the cigarette companies found it profitable to ignore the data of their own research proving the link. The govt just turned a blind eye.

As far as I'm concerned I'm staying on the fence until I see some decent, honestly gathered, data.

Porkscratchings,

I have to be quite frank with you. What you said demonstrated zero aptitude for analytical thought.

Hence, you do not talk like someone who does any mathematical analysis. You can be someone who does a little bit of numerical computation, but certainly not in the capacity of analysis.

Or it is just porkies as they say.

It is so lovely that one can be so sure of their own analysis of any substantial data or of anyone's analysis of data; which one is not party to the analysis.

When is one's job or qualification gives one the 'supreme ability' to be 'specialist or experts' in all the quantitative fields of all subjects in the universe?

The more one learns, the more 'voids' open up for further analysis or processing.

'Global warming' - we all have the ability to contribute in our daily life, for our own well-belling if not for others. It also helps our pocket.

I have a selfish reason, it is good for my business and for my conscience.

The Earth has been much hotter long before man even discovered how to rub sticks together to make fire.

-We might cross the road and 'be dead' tomorrow ( fatalistic attitude ) so why should one look after oneself and our surroundings.

- The 'world had been hotter' and the 'world had been colder'. The 'Dodo' had been exterminated so had all the dinosaurs; so why worry about the mere termination of the human species or any endangered species on our Earth today.

The selfish, self-centred and callous attitude of many individuals that is responsible for demise of the Earth's resources.

The mentality of 'overdraft today' and maybe we will not live to pay the capital or the accrued interest tomorrow; is the 'curse of our time'. We no longer take personal responsibility for our actions.

It is always the 'other party's fault' that make us do what we do today. What a 'Delusion'?

In that case, lets commit suicide to save resources. Anyone who has children has taken up more than their fair share of resources.

What an infantile response?

'I can't have my way, so I am stamping my feet'

Growing up is painful, I sympathise.

Grow up Zombiehellmonkey.

The world can no longer ignore the accumulation of CO2 build up in the atmosphere. Every nation now acknowledge that.

What will the world economy run on if we can't burn fossil fuels anymore?

Fusion will not be possible in time, if ever.

Oil & gas will be burn out in only another 20 years at our present rate.

It is very little to ask every individual in the developed world to save energy and not burn fossil fuel anymore.

We all need to do our bit to save our future.
