Anorexia Nervosa
I just watched a Teachers.tv documentary on TV about advances in a Swedish clinic on treating Anorexia Nervosa. Can watch on the internet too
http://www.teachers.tv/video/34516
Conventional therapies has < 50% chance of cure.
This new therapy has 90% chance based on no remission for 5 years after treatment.
This is a very serious illness, so it musn't be under estimated. 20% death rate directly and indirectly.
( www.teachers.tv is rather useful!) |

Brain Injury and psychological trauma recovery
_______________________________________________
I just caught the end of a documentary called "Put Me Back Together Again".
It follows several traumatised/brain injured people who are put on re-habilitation programmes to learn how to cope with situations they could not cope with.
In other words, by learning (re-programming the brain), some can manage to cope again. |
