Sorry to shorten list further...

Myleene Klass is Austrian-Filipino.

Vanessa-Mae was born in Singapore to a Thai father and a Chinese mother. She is only British virtue of her mother's second marriage.

Katie Leung is the nearest to British-Chinese and she is errr... half-Scottish.

There is a fairly respectable list on Wikipedia but for some reason the page is up for deletion. I didnt know Lisa Scott-Lee was quarter-Chinese! Learn something every day.

chunxueping, you are filled with false information. katie leung is not half scottish, she is full chinese.

There are different aspects of being chinese; what one looks like, what family culture/language is one brought up, and what one's passport says, just to name a few.

All these aspects interplay which may affect one's chances in life.

Therefore, the purpose of a list of BBCs is to have a list of people with one or more aspects of chineseness, so that we can study them and relate ourselves to their circumstances. It is about us.

(In which hospital was one born is not a relevant indicator of one's identity, therefore BBC should really be thought of as British Chinese.)

Children, children, there's no need to argue Very Happy

Katie's nationality and place of birth are indeed in Scotland, and her father Peter (according to the Wiki article) appears to be 'Peter Li or Leung' which sounds like a typical chinese boy's name, and her mother Kar Wai Li Leung has a typical chinese name.

Hence Katie appears to have full chinese descent.

He personal life is interesting and very untypical of early generations of chinese in UK.
