Calling all artists!

EAST (EAST ASIAN STRATEGIC TRAINING) SCHEME
Your chance to change Arts Council policy to help you!

Deadline for submissions: 15th August 2006

Chinese Arts Centre has been commissioned by Arts Council England to help it develop a range of service for the East Asian arts sector in London. This is an extremely positive development for the East Asian arts community and needs as much support from artists & arts organisations as possible. The scheme will include:
i. An on-line database that aims to be the one-stop site for arts professionals to source East Asian artists and arts organisations.
ii. A one-to-one session to assist artists' practices.
iii. A seminar to be held at the National Portrait Gallery on the 13th October 2006.
iv. Practical support for applying to Grants for the Arts.


The first stage is to identify East Asian artists, research their career needs and put their details on the promotional database. To do this we need artists' to complete a questionnaire and return it to Chinese Arts Centre by 15th August 2006, this can be done by:

Completing the questionnaire on-line http://www.eastonline.org/questionnaire
Requesting a hardcopy from by emailing artists@chinese-arts-centre.org

Once we have the completed forms, we can begin inputting your information onto the database and the collated information will go towards structuring the seminar and making recommendations to ACE to how they can best support the sector.


If the questionnaires are not completed and sent back then we will not be able to promote artists and they may loose the opportunity to influence Arts Council policy.


EAST will support artists and arts organisations at all levels and in all discplines.
