I have just returned from another visit to Singapore,
two Durian sessions, what a feast of the Queen of Tropical Fruits,
creamy and tasty ;-p _________________ physically Chinese; global in heart and mind |

I always hated the smell and it looked too scary to eat! But at one family dinner it was forced into my mouth and I'm not gonna lie - it wasn't half bad. Actually I ate the rest like a pig...
Plus there's a Central Oriental supermarket just on the A1 in Bedfordshire that has them fresh so they are easy to get a hold of for me.
If anyone else has trouble finding fresh durians, I know that Central have 3 branches - my local one is on the A1 (London Road)in Sandy, Bedfordshire and there's one in Luton and another in Milton Keynes. I think you can look up the exact address on Google maps or something. There used to be one in Watford but it closed down
But they are great for finding pretty much everything you need for Chinese cooking. (plus they have delicious frozen dim sum for when I am too lazy to make my own)
Anyway happy eating! |
