If you are next in London Soho Chinatown and you fancy eating spicy chinese food, go to 'Golden Day' Chinese Restaurant at nos.118-120, Shaftesbury Avenue, London W1, where you can eat authentic Hunan Cuisine, the very first one in Chinatown.
For those of you who are not familiar with Hunan Cuisine and for details/information, visit:

When I was in China recently, I was introduced to Hunanese food and liked it very much. I am, therefore, pleased that one can get Hunan Cuisine in London Soho Chinatown now. |

tenpence, here are some of my favourite hunan dishes viz:
(1) Marinated beef sliced;
(2) Fresh cucumber chunks with dressing;
(3) Stewed pork belly ;
(4) Stewed pig's feet;
(5) Stir fried 'morning glory' vegetable with black bean chilli sauce;
(6) Steamed fish head with pickled chilli pepper served with plain noodle;
(7) Stewed potato glass noodle;
The list is endless. I have eaten at the Golden Day Restaurant recently and the food there is pretty good and authentic. The head chef and manager of the said restaurant come from Hunan Province, China. |
