Vietnamese UK Youth Action, August 2nd 2008.
The UK Vietnamese Network presents this exciting day of activities, for Vietnamese young people aged 14-18.
On the day young people will be separated into teams. The teams will then compete in a series of activities, such as treasure hunt, mua sap, games, and paintballing. There will be prizes for the winning team. The activities are set to take place in central London (zone 1).
This event has been sponsored by the UK Vietnamese Network. The only cost to the young people is a £5 non-refundable registration fee to secure their place (worth £80). This covers the following:
* activity costs (materials, location rent, paintball admission);
* food and beverages (lunch, snacks, breakfast and dinner for those outside London);
* travel and accommodation for those outside of London;
* travel within London (zones 1 & 2) for all; and
* goodies for the young people (t-shirts, bags, maps, prizes).
The aim of the day is to give British Vietnamese young people an opportunity to meet each other to make new friendships and also the opportunity to participate in a day of Vietnamese and British culture-related activities.
What we need from you
As it is very close to the event date, we need your cooperation to get the word out about this exciting event. Please contact the young people associated with your local area or community centre ASAP.
Please nominate a representative from your community centre, such as a youth worker, to coordinate with the young people and their families in your area for train bookings. If possible, please have the representative collect the registration fee and consent forms to speed up the registration process. Please contact us to arrange travel and accommodation. We have already booked accommodation for those outside of London.
Food, accommodation, and travel will be provided for the youth worker accompanying the young people on the day.
The deadline for registration is 21st of July. We only have enough space for 60 young people. If there are more requests than spaces, we will operate a waiting list on a first-come first-serve basis.
