I'm encouraged to see the chinese Film season re-appear in Glasgow. However I have had some difficulty tracing the organisers! Even through this site.

As good fortune would have it I teach a film-related discipline at a leading Glasgow college. If anyone would care to put me in touch with someone who can provide promotional materials for the festival I can display inthe college I'd be most grateful.

As an aside I would also be grateful for any modest donations of film poster or similar materials we could use in our lecture rooms. With a personal interest in Chinese culture and film it would please me particularlyif these promoted Chinese film....

Please feel free to contact me: Matt Rathney-Quinn, matt@tfgtv.co.uk for a contact address at the college where such items may be sent...

What course do you teach and where you teach it? What film disciplines do you teach? I work in the film industry (you can see my CV on my homepage) and I have also studied in Scotland. Maybe I've heard of your course.

I'm part of the Media section at the Department of Music and Creative Industries of Stow College in Glasgow. Specifically we run an HND in Media Technology which has a strong emphasis on video production.

I've also taught TV production at North Glasgow and of course spent in excess of 20 years working in the industry.

I find it fascinating and feel so happy that there is something done to promote chinese culture in the UK...
I first came about knowledge of the Electric Shadows Chinese Film Festival through a non Chinese work colleague.. and will certainly be paying a visit to view some of the movies...and to know that David Yip.... and Zhang Ziyi are patrons of the festival is so positive and encouraging to know that this may well be a regular festival held in Glasgow.. Promoting Glasgow more as a cultural city and I wish and hope this will get more and more popular...
I will certainly do more to spread awareness of this festival and promote it across the other chinese forum communities...

THANKS!!!!!

Wisemansay......

Indeed it IS encouraging.

Those of us lucky enough to observe and enjoy what little Chinese Cinema we CAN access know a little of it's diversity and potential. As a Glaswegian I find it particularl inspiring that this event should start to take root in the Dear Green Place.....

And from whatever angle the subject is approached we should all do what we can to encourage it!

Personally I would like to see an at least once-monthly showing, or even a bi-monthly event, with rather more 'forceful' promotion of the festival..

Lets hope!

To the Editor; thanks for the contact details; I'll get in touch!
