BCS New Forest Multi Activity Weekend:

Arriving in the New Forest can give you a comforting sensation: the place looks and feels so very different from the surrounding countryside. You'll find around a tenth of all the world's lowland heaths in southern England - and of these, the New Forest's huge purple vista are by far the largest and most important. Besides the heath, some 30,000 acres of woodland help the New Forest to live up to its name.

The activities programme for this weekend is intended to be fun and challenging and will require a mix of endurance, flexibility and stamina. All are suitable for any level; however it would be an advantage if you can cycle. The activities are only 10 minutes walk from the Lodge

Activities will include:

- Friday Night walk: To stretch those stiff legs after the long drive.

- High rope challenge (Saturday & Sunday morning): A series of obstacles suspended 20-30 feet in the air. Requiring balance, nerves and trust in the person holding the rope. This session is repeated again on Sunday morning but this time with much more challenging obstacles requiring the whole team to pull together.

- Kayaking (Saturday morning): You will be taught the basic skills of travelling forwards, back, turning and stopping and then various games i.e. "British bull dog" and "it" to focus those skills.

- Mountain biking in the New Forest (Saturday afternoon): Starting on quiet country lanes and progressing onto wide forest off road tracks. You will be guided into the heart of the Forest. Planning to cover 15-20 miles. A bike can be hired at around £15 (additional cost).

- Outdoor pool (Saturday evening): After the mountain on Saturday you can relax in the heated outdoor pool for a few hours before the pub dinner.

- Archery

- Wall climbing /Abseiling

- New Forest Country Walk (Sunday afternoon)
