Hi Mike

At what level of analysis are you doing this project? Bachelors, Masters, PhD or just a report?

How many people are you thinking of interviewing?

Thank you your interest and response. I am conducting research for a project in an undergraduate course on ethnicity in London. The course lecturer is David Cowell, Ph.D., who is based at my University near the British Museum. I intend for this to be a simple and informal process, more like a conversation, albeit documented. I am seeking as many interviewees as possible, and preferably, from diverse ages (eg. one student per one retired person), but am flexible. I appreciate any assistance you might be able to offer in finding people.

There is a BBC meet every first saturday of the month in London. May be you can go to one of those and get connected with some people.

You may want to concerntrate on one particular age group rather than a whole range of ages. As a thesis it may be harder to defend as you might find that your concepts may not cause infernece to them all.

No, I do not go to the SOAS. I wish!! But my school, along with UCL, is in the same area.

I have contacted several organizations cocerned with the Chinese community in London, and aside from an interview with a fellow student I met during my attempts, I have not had any luck establishing contacts and interviewees. As a consequence, I feel I have no other option but to post a questionnaire on this message board. I want to preface my questions by stressing my preference for in-person interviews because I fear I might not capture the spirit of your responses this way. Nevertheless, I hope to a gain a better understanding of Chinese in Britain through this questionnaire.

I appreciate the time taken to assist me in my research, and am greatful to all that replied back to my posts. I welcome your comments and suggestions. Thank you all for your time and responses.
