The fourth series of my Resonance FM radio show Lucky Cat is coming to an end (last show is on 8th April, a special on the Terracotta Film Festival) so I'm putting on a club night. I'll be DJing and have asked Jean-Paul Séculaire (Right On! club night and author of The London Dossier) to guest DJ.

There should be quite a mixture of music with a lot of Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae produced by Chinese Jamaicans Leslie Kong, Randy Chin, Justin Yap and Byron Lee. I also collect 1960's Asia beat so I'll be playing some of that and some early Shanghai jazz influenced stuff too. Imagine a Wong Kar Wai soundtrack with Ska and Doo Wop added and you get the feel.

There will be Shaw Brothers films screened on the wall and a cake stall if you get hungry. All at the lovely Arts Bar which is above Funky Monkey on Camberwell Church Street. If you want to eat before you come I can recommend Silk Road (Xinjiang Chinese food) up the road.

Price is just £3 entry all night, from 8 till 2. Happy Hour is 8-9, doubles at singles prices and cocktails 2 4 1.
