It is always the problem Siu-Mai, we hate each other more than we hate anyone else. Laughing Laughing

Nah, we the same as anyone else. Disagree, fight, laugh and cry.

I cannot remember who made the quote, maybe "The Good Woman of China" herself, Our Beloved Xinran but I always loved it.

"How do you communicate in a land the size of Europe, of 2 Billion souls, 56 ethnic groups and 1000 dielects?"

"With smiles, guesture and the human heart."

Lets all live in peace and harmony eh my fellow Asian brothers and sisters? We shouldn't berate "Pamela" on her viewpoint. She wrote some very nice articles and is only trying to plug her magazine by being controversial oops! Wink

PS Pure tabloid writing, she should apply for the Daily Sport.

I was a member at squat but got tired of it. I have been reading DimSum for a while now, but just never got to joining. I would say it is better over here! Wink

Squat is a commercial eZine about contemporary scenes.

Quite different from DimSum.

Squat reminds me of taking a dump in a HK toilet. Which speaks volumes for the articles lol!

both are very different:

dim sum concerntrates more on chinese british contemporary issues and is reminiscent of a broadsheet newspaper, i.e the guardian.

batgawa/squat focuses more on far east asian culture, so it's not just chinese but japanese, korean, malaysian etc as well. however, it celebarates both diaspora-based and indigenous cultures.

also it leans towards popular culture and things like music, art, fashion, tv, movies etc.

however, i personally would opt for dim sum as it has the better articles and touches on the issues that really affect the BBC community
