The link does not work with my Firefox and IE browsers because of the full-stop at the end.

Here it is again without the full-stop.

I cannot work out how to donate via the internet, so meanwhile, donate using their special telephone line or write a chque to them etc.

If you are a UK taxpayer, can they claim the income tax back for you (gift aid)? If not, then I suggest British Red Cross may be a better alternative.
