Modern Chinese male?

In old Beijing, 12 oppressed men formed a private club to escape "the inner ones" and they met in the upstairs room of their favourite restaurant where they could eat and drink with bravado out of the sight and hearing of their wives.

The wives however got to hear of this and arrived noisily en masse at the restaurant one night, each determined to restore her authority.

On hearing the wives coming up the stairs, all but one (whose name was lau lin) fled the scene and the wives upon hearing the sound of panic and flight,laughed and congratulated each other and returned home to await their respective spouses, at which time no doubt, more would be said.

Meantime, the panic stricken men had regrouped in the streets, and each said to the other; "did you notice the bravery of lau lin? He did not even stir from his table whilst we all fled." All were agreed that they should return to the upper room and learn from his courage, all were agreed that he should be asked to be the leader. The prospect of a new dawn however was shattered when they discovered lau lin still in his seat where he had died of fright!

My father told me this was true.

To a degree, I agree with pensggs. There are too many Chinese men with the 'Chinese Pride', and they suffer the 'Chinese disease' which causes one to worry about what others think of them. So the Chinese male, when dating, will present a false image of himself, as a kind, polite and submissive male; this tends to attract the dominant Chinese female. Needless to say, the results are often disastrous...

Women are not entirely blameless... The Chinese female often suffers from 'Big Pig Mouth', which causes her to scream and shout at her husband/ boyfriend in public. These women usually get worse as they get to their middle ages, becoming the stereotypical 'Monster Pig Wife'.

That's why Chinese men prefer dating caucasian women who are less bad-tempered and better in bed Smile

Escapism, Denial, Blame and Self Deception; all mechanics of survival of self; when the world is 'cruel' and when we have no control over our life.

The grass is always greener on the other side. Today, watching a TVB recall on the Sichun earthquake, these thoughts got to me. So here goes.

If we want to find 'excuse' for failure, there is always one aroung the corner. But, hiding from oneself, one lived a unfulfilled life.

If one is scared of living or death; one is already dead. If you are already dead, why are you so scared of living?

If you did not identify yourself as a BBC, I would have misinterprete that you lack an understanding of the English Language.

Hitler existed because the populous in Germany regardless of their race, whether Jews, French, Italians , English, Russians, Austrians, etc were in 'Denial, Self Deception' and wished to escape the fact that 'such madness could exists in a fellow human being. This refusal to face facts and wish to 'escape' from the self resulted in the need to identify a 'scapegoat' to 'blame'. Most tragedy in life are caused by these self preservation instincts which resulted tragedies being reproduced generations after generations.

In extreme situations, the populous acted like zombies, and follow the leader.

Like the 'leemings' do when they jump to their death in their thousands.

Life is for living, not for running or hiding or escaping.

If you are trying to put 'Your words' into mine, I suggest you revisit your comprehension of your English Language.

'I did not blame the Jews for what happen to them'. My writing to date has identified the 'passive' amongst us that allowed 'Hitler' to exist. He was born, he did not need to 'exist' in the form that he did. We allowed Hitler to exist.

It was our selfish self preservation that allowed 'Hitler' to exist in the form he did.

Respect goes both ways.

It really is strange that Hitler find it necessary to invade other countries for living space. Today the world is much more crowded but we feel unsafe as we witness the destructive forces of nature. Many would find eastern Europe too empty.
Learning the English language carries with it cultural baggages such as sorrows about the Great War and forever sniping at other chinese about english comprehension! Laughing
