While discussing on Friends of the Earth, I came across this video which explains how money works, how it is created in the US.
(The 1st few minutes is drama, but after that it is very serious academic material)
I am interested in a serious academic discussion.

Ok, I took the bait, ten seconds to read your post more than an hour watching the film, well done!!!!
I have been interested in this Elephant in the Room for many many years. I don't think the film takes simplistic view, but perhaps there is a simplistic response available to the individual to escape the clutches of this monster. |

well done. I have just finished watching the film, whilst riding the 'merry-go-round' of servicing my business debts. I started working at 4.30 a.m this morning and have just come to a pause.
The simple solution is to give up, and throw in the towels. However, if I was to do that, the consequence is not only on me.
Abdication is very easy at individual level once the individaul has decided.
Money is only a medium of exchange. We as individual decide which monetary balls we picked up and which game to join. If we do not enjoy the game, we have the right to walk away. And sometimes, walking away is the only answer.
Anyway, thanks, Edwina for an educational diverse hour whilst completing my tedious responsibilty. |

This is a good explanation of the money tree.
In autumn the money tree sheds it's leaves in accordance with the Tao.
Where has all the money gone?

In winter, root around the money tree for treasures. |

The debate is over. The leadership of most important countries in global warming have all declared their position towards the issue.
Warming is real, it is man made, and we need to reduce anthropogenic CO2 emission.
Obama's position is similar to the UK's. 80% reduction by 2050.
Get over it. |

What evidence have you to support your position apart from this silly video and numerous conspiracy theory sites?
Ask the presidents of the US, UK, France, Germany, Brasil, India, China, . . . Their chief scientists are all accepting the conclusions of the IPCC. |

Ah is difficult to call up World leaders and ask them.
China I can get you pretty close, maybe to Prime Minister's outer office but for other countries, not so easy.
To be honest, there has been some debate on this issue in New Scientist and other magazine and I think case is overstated, certainly case is made that it is very expensive solution to save a few islands in the Pacific. But is sensible that we use our resources wisely.
Actually, I not be around in 2050 so should I care? |

Xue Ping,
You should care, or your corpse will rot in water without a decent place of burial ( 死無装身之地 ) and your ancestors would not be proud of you. |

X-P,
Your frazzled brain needs re-education.
Let Obama be your teacher over the internet. Let him into your life and transform your ancestorless pitiful life of unkindness to babyseals.
Love earth, love the planet, love baby seals, cleanse unclean thoughts and bring energy of renewal into your heart:-
