I'm alarmed to read that internet communication in Xinjiang is still virtually closed.
It looks to me like the riots were organised using the internet, & their security has not yet located the group which organised it.
Meanwhile, Xinjiang businesses which depended on the internet cannot talk to their customers.

Why do riots have to be organize by the internet?
People are capable of doing these things by themselves. After all there wasn't an Internet when we organize the Revolution. |

You are right Xue Ping. Riots do not need the internet , but if the internet & mobiles are widely available, people will find them useful to organise & stoke up tempers to riot.
I think it is implausible that large scale riots in Tibet & Xinjiang occured without some form of group encouragement. |

Kang,
小春 is in a far away land for the new year, so now I can say anything without a hysterical woman breathing down my keyboard
There are a lot of angry people in Xinjiang indeed. Judging by the comments I read on China's forums, I think Xinjiang native people's anger comes from a combination of feelings of frustration, envy, & feeling left out or discriminated. Much similarity with the feelings between mainlanders & Hong Kongers.
Serious fence mending is required & it's going to take time. |

Edwina, a contridiction. XuePing is not far away, just a keystroke away from you.
The ill feelings between Chinese tribal societies are like any other tribal fights in the whole wide world or web. A ancient survival instinct, which can be without reasons or causes.
To even attempt to explain these disputes in simple sentences are just as shallow.
Sometimes, when the environment gets too sterile, an over ripe basket of fruits, attracting buzzing 'fruity flies' and upsetting our peace, is just the trick.
Happy Tiger Year To All. |
