In May 2010, Eason Chan will complete his remarkable journey from being a UK university student to Hong Kong's brightest star by performing in Britain as part of his highly anticipated tour of Europe. The highlight of the tour is without doubt, his performance at London's prestigious Royal Albert Hall, a landmark achievement for a Canton-pop singer as he is the first to stage a concert at the venue since the legendary Roman Tam, way back in 1979. So far, Eason has held five successful major concerts in Hong Kong and has completed his ‘Moving on Stage World Tour' in August 2009, for which he visited cities in Asia and North America. By the time he arrives in Britain come May, he would have just completed his ‘Duo Eason Chan 2010 Concert' staged in the Hong Kong Coliseum. Despite his recent globe-trotting adventures, this would be the first time he performs in Europe and would also give him the chance to make an emotional return to Britain (Eason was sent to the United Kingdom at the age of 12, he later went on to study architecture at Kingston University before returning to Hong Kong to participate, and eventually winning the singing competition that would launch his musical career). Eason's performance at the Royal Albert Hall will take place on the 3rd of May before staging his second and final UK show on the 6th of May at Manchester's Apollo Theatre. Tickets for the London showing are being released today on the 28th of February, and tickets for the Manchester gig due to release on the 2nd of March. Please click here for more information. |
