16 May 2001 Stick to your Guns I was thrilled to hear of your protest regarding the government's position
on Jodi Kasper
As an English/French Canadian/American, I was interested to read of your Every government knows that a divided citizenry will be more controllable Again, I wish you well, but until the people of the world can get together Ralph Bisaillon
Aside from the the other incredible misstatements, baseless suppositions, phone accusations and non sequitur conclusions contained in the article, "China-US Standoff over spy plane," YES, the suggestion that the busy crew of a mortally-stricken aircraft request an emergency clearance for landing is an example of the gross and abominable ignorance and myopia of anyone making such a silly request. And, it demonstrates the abominable ignorance of the requestee about aircraft in emergency situations. All credible reports indicate this unarmed American aircraft was a victim of the "kamikaze" and "gung-ho" mind-set of the Chinese COMMUNIST fighter pilots, particularly the one who was allegedly killed (we don't know that for a fact, either. I personally suspect the alleged crash and death has been manufactured for political propaganda purposes), and was headed for a crash landing, and all the crew's attention and efforts were focused SOLELY on getting the aircraft and the crew down in as safe a condition as possible. There was no time for anything other than guiding and managing the aircraft to as safe a landing as possible, and insuring the welfare of the many crewmembers. What is it in the secretive and murderous COMMUNIST Chinese makeup that forbids just a bit of leeway to a stricken aircraft about to crash, and the lives of some 24 people, human beings, at stake? When the Chinese COMMUNIST government is busy daily ruthlessly and brutally crushing all forms of free speech and all dissent, while exploiting and demonizing it's citizens, keeping millions of it's citizens in poverty, why are we expected to believe anything they say? And, believe me, I and millions of American citizens, don't believe a thing they say. I am particularly underwhelmed at the tenor of this article, and reject it it out of hand as a classic example of pure Chinese COMMUNIST inspired poppycock. Jack |
