Still looking for a university place?! The situation in which tens of thousands of eager and intelligent would-be students find themselves this year in the UK is regrettable and from societal perspective short-sighted.

As a former UK student and a university educator for the past 30 years, I would like to help.

My university, the City University of Hong Kong, is a major English-speaking public university ranked 124 in the world in the Times Higher Education QS rankings. It is situated in a former British colony and now cosmopolitan global city of Hong Kong.

CityU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences still has some places and may even be able to provide scholarships in a broad range of subjects in its six constituent departments.

Amongst them are Asian Studies, international politics and policy studies, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Linguistics, Heritage Studies, Comparative literature, English and Creative Writing, Broadcast journalism, Psychology and Criminology.
