1 September 2002 Lee Kyung Woon was a first year student at Kent University. Born in Spain Kyung Woon (also known as Michael) was of South Korean origin whose dream was to study in England. However what started as a dream ended in a tragic nightmare. Within days of arriving in September 2000 Michael died in suspicious circumstances. The police say it may have been a road accident but the real facts are not known because there was no thorough police investigation but only wrong and misleading information passed on to his parents. More tragically, Michael's body has still not been buried despite the fact that he died nearly two years ago and remains at Canterbury Hospital. His parents have seen their deceased son only once and that for identification purposes. The Justice for Lee Kyung Woon is now supported by the National Civil Rights Movement, an organisation that was born out of the Stephen Lawrence Family Campaign and supported by many other family campaigns and prominent individuals. The Lawrence solicitor, Mr Imran Khan, now represents the Lee family. We demand a new police investigation and an inquiry into the conduct of the agencies involved in this case.
