The Chinese community doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry after the latest in a series of gaffes by disgraced football expert Ron Atkinson.

In a fund-raising event at his old club Sheffield Wednesday, Atkinson spoke to a 250 strong crowd where he said: "The Chinese people have the best contraception in the world - but I can’t understand why there’s so many of them because their women are so ugly."

It comes just a few months after the Champions League semi-final where he accused the Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly of being "a fucking, lazy, thick nigger". That remark, broadcast live to the Middle East hen he thought his microphone had been switched off, forced him to resign from his role as a football analyst for ITV. It also lost him his position as columnist for The Guardian newspaper.

A spokesman for football’s anti-racism campaign Kick It Out said: " [These comments] are deeply offensive. He seems to be consistently insulting about people because of their race. In this day and age you cannot make jokes about race."

In the storm that has followed, Atkinson tried to deflate tension by saying "I cannot believe anyone has complained about anything I said. I went there to help them out and to raise money. I stayed for ages and did photographs.”

The Chinese community have met his comments with mixed reactions. One Chinese woman said,” His comments are not very helpful and only serve to incense racial divide. At the end of the day, though, the joke is on him – his career is effectively over. No one would want to be associated with this bigotry.”

Most fail to take Atkinson’s remarks seriously, although Jabez Lam, of Min Quan, the Chinese branch of Monitoring Group, said: "I think it shows how deeply rooted racism is in British society and the football industry. When people are in an environment in which they feel comfortable they make these kinds of jokes. Of course it is offensive, not just to the Chinese, but also to women."

Whatever the reactions of the Chinese community, one thing’s for sure. It’s game over for you ‘Big wRONg’.

Ron Atkinson doesn't deserve the stick he's got recently. He's a great guy - friendly, warm and genuine - a great manager, and an exceptional pundit. In short, he's a legend. Our sport needs this guy back.

Well if there avenues to show you dissent in a democratic society to voice once opinion or disgust on particular issue, we must be thankful to the system.
Remember the accusers is no saints either they themselves are known to practice such an "apartheid" system" racially motivated through many generation. The blacks are still frowned and look down upon by all East Asian. I ask Chinese, Koreans, Taiwanese, or Japanese how many really take effort sincerely to have black friends and take effort to forge better understanding with black community? Attempts by Chinese community anyway in the world to portray themselves as not racist is a hype. Jacky Chan may try to make act with black actors and Jet Li can act with blacks to make it belief in movies to give the impression that they get on well with all Americans black and white. But why do East Asian prefer to associate in various ways with Whites? This simply take wish gain something out from them. Classically a win - lose situation and whites empty handed. We Americans (Whites) are naive to believe East Asian especially Chinese and Koreans. Chinese community in America never supports the Democrats lead by Obama, this was clearly so as they are mostly Republican supporters.
However things are changing there to, a Black Republican leader has being appointed i.e. Michael Steele. Where would Chinese and Korean go now to support now. During the last election Democrat Black Caucus in Democratic Party voice out the indolent attitude of East Asian community of not favoring or supporting Obama as their the presidential candidate instead favoring McCain the republican. This is reflection of East Asian belligerent attitude to towards the Black Community and is stand on certain issues in America.
One can only conclude however that the facts speak for itself and we blacks know who truly the Chinese or East Asian are when it come to race relations.

America is very picky about the immigrants they let in. Most of the Chinese immigrants allowed in the USA are right wing capitalist types, and if you were a left winger, you simply would not even get a visa. Look at the Russian immigrants in Amerca. They too are right wing. Cuban immigrants? Same thing. America had accepted a large number of Venezuelan immigrants who helped the United States overthrow Chavez. Do you think these Venezuelan Americans are going to vote for workers rights? I don't think so. You think it's a coincidence that all these immigrant groups tend to vote the same way? I think not. So to say that Chinese people support republicans is ridiculous. Furthermore, American immigrants are not representative of the home population. Many of Chinese Americans may be racist, but this does not mean that Chinese people are racist. The situation is that simply, the most racist and evil Chinese happened to have immigrated to an evil country, America, to suit their needs and be around people just like them, greedy, and evil. Now onto the real issue here with ugly Chinese women. If Chinese women are so ugly, then why are these so called white guys chasing after them so aggressively. Walk around any street of a western city and you will see many western men and Chinese women couples. The reality of the situation is that western women are much fatter, and age much faster than their Chinese counter parts, this is why the western men took for other alternatives. A 30 year old western woman can easily look 40 or 50 yrs old, whereas any given 40yr old Chinese woman will look 30, or 20. There's also no question about the weight. I am seeing many western women that weigh more than men. Guys like Leroy Brown never leave their mothers basement, this is why all they know is America and nothing else. If you go to Jamaica, you will see that the Chinese and blacks mix very well. This is because there is a missing componenent there... (white racists). If you go to Africa, you will also see Chinese and Africans getting along fine, whether it's Angola, Sierre Leon, Ghana, Nigeria, or Uganda. On the other hand, if you look at what white people did in those same countries, it is just absolutely inhumane. The Chinese in fact have a large presence throughout Africa, South east Asia, Latin America, and the Arab world. If you compare what the Chinese have done in those countries, compared with what the white westerners have done in those countries, there is no denying who the racist is.

Judging by the vast amount of statements (conclusions which is either false of true) you make based on the most unsophisticated of analysis of polling data, then probability considerations alone would expect most of your statements to be inaccurate/wrong.

This is typical throwing of real concepts into digital boxes whether they fit or not, often called black & white thinking.

The categories of the real world are better described as grey or continuous spectrum.

Black & white thinking inevitably leads to huge errors in conclusions.

Ron is damn right!!! Chinese women are the ugliest B's in the world. Ron is telling the truth like it is. White guys date Chinese girls cuz they easy, not cuz they cute or nothin.

Actually, most guys I know think Chinese women are hot!!

I know a lot of cute Chinese girls in my school.

Personally, I think this guy must be gay. He sort of looks it and talks funny.

Big Ron - hero and legend. I didn't think that was nice what Tony said about Maggie - she's actually quite fit.Ron's my hero - he isn't racist and he's not malicious - he's a great, warm - hearted guy - I met him on holiday. Knowing Ron very well for years i know he is not racist at all, 1st manager to field an all black side at Aston Villa, had the 3 degrees at WBA in the late 70's..that says it all..Top Top Guy
