Foot & MAFF Demonstration

I just wanted to say that I was pleased with the turnout at last Sunday's demonstration, even thought it was organised by a newly formed committee at such short notice. There were an impressive number of supporters there. I think that all the people who turned up and participated should be commended. I am so proud to be a part of democracy in action, everyone had a placard and passer-bys were issued with leaflets. It is time that politicians and the media realise that you can't scapegoat a minority just because they are usually stereotyped as pacifists. The result - an apology, made the whole event worthwhile. It just goes to show, that you should always stand up for your beliefs and rights, and let your voice be heard because your voice does matter.

The very peaceful protest was accentuated by a wonderful sunny day. I think that with a bit more publicity, there would have been a bigger turnout, I think that Susanna and the others, really did a great job of the keeping the crowd’s spirits up. I was also pleased that the media coverage was favourable, and the reports highlighted the main points, which was brought to their attention by the informative leaflets handed out during the rally.
