Nick Brown requests meeting with the Chinese community 6 April 2001 Agriculture minister Nick Brown today telephoned Thomas Chan, deputy chief steward of the Chinese Civil Rights Action Group (CCRAG), to request a meeting tomorrow to discuss Chinese scapegoating in the foot-and-mouth outbreak. A delegation from CCRAG will meet Mr Brown at the Maff offices in Smith Square at 11am, where they will demand a statement from Mr Brown exonerating the Chinese community in foot-and-mouth, and for him to condemn the racist reporting that followed Maff's briefing on Monday 26 March.
