Feast yourself on a selection of Chinese films rarely shown in the UK. Throughout the month of October, there are three film festivals to showcase the cinematic delights from China and Hong Kong. This is a great opportunity for film lovers to see something beyond the martial arts epics and the run-off-the mill triad capers. So grab some popcorn and see you at the movies.

In between touring with Moby, Liz and Sarah Liew from CHi2, took time out to speak to Dimsum about life on the road, their music and their latest theatrical show Monkey King – A Modern Beijing Opera.

On Saturday 26 September the town of Huntly in Aberdeen will be host to a most unsual spectacle as it celebrates its unique link between its Scottish borders and the Far East. 

As homage to their ancestor, the nineteenth-century missionary James Legge, the locals of Huntly will stage a traditional Chinese mourning ceremony,accompanied by Scottish music, led through the town square by Beijing artists Deng Dafei and He Hai of The Utopia Group.

As part of the Thames Festival, Chinatown Arts Space will present Piccadilly Revisited, an outdoor film and music performance on Saturday 12th September 2009. The screening will be on the side of the Royal Festival Hall at Southbank Centre.
