Chinese classical dance fusion - 'Beauty Unveiled' on 12 January 2010

The unveiling of a new dance form

Yuyu Rau has created a new dance work with its foundations in Chinese classical dance as part of the Resolution 2010 programme at the Robin Howard Dance Theatre in London. This new dance show fuses elements of Westen and Chinese dance mixing conflict and balance, contradiction and fulfillment, sophistication and freedom.  Rau, who also stars as one of the dancers in 'Picadilly Revisited'  has created an experimental piece, exploring new forms of fluidity and elegance as the dancers unveil a new form of beauty.

Description
Yin and Yang is one of concepts in Chinese philosophy related to change. These two opposing, yet complimentary forces are constantly at work in the universe and in our lives. Yin and yang are the basis of change but they also come together in harmony to create a balanced whole. The simplest example of this is breathing. We breathe in and we breathe out - an opposing action that comes together to create balance and harmony
