Inspired by the spirit of an ancient culture, Shen Yun Divine Performing Arts brings to life classical Chinese dance and music in a gloriously colorful and exhilarating show. The New York-based Shen Yun Divine Performing Arts seeks to revive the five-millennia-old Chinese artistic tradition through expressive classical dance, traditional ethnic and folk dance as well as story-based dance, bringing legends and modern tales to life. Joining the dancers are world-class vocalists and a forty-piece orchestra that fuses Western and Eastern classical music.

The company’s masterful choreography and graceful routines range from grand classical processions to ethnic and folk dances, with gorgeously costumed dancers moving in stunning synchronized patterns. Its themes are drawn from the pages of history as well as our world today.

State-of-the-art backdrops conjure celestial palaces and pastoral vistas, while groundbreaking music combines the best of Chinese and Western composition. Taking inspiration from ancient heroic legends and modern courageous tales, the breathtaking beauty of Shen Yun Divine Performing Arts is not to be missed.

Edward McMillan-Scott Vice President of the European Parliament said at a welcome reception for Shen Yun Divine Performing Arts at the European Parliament on February 9, that every aspect of the performances by DPA are extraordinary and that they comprise “a contemporary historic poem that can be enjoyed by both the easterners and westerners…”

Hans-Gert Poettering, European Parliament President wrote in his welcome letter that, “The Divine Performing Arts, aiming at bringing China’s 5000 years of traditional culture to the world, makes an enormous contribution to cultural exchange, enabling the rest of the world get a better understanding of Chinese culture”. He wished, “The Divine Performing Arts will enjoy the greatest success on its 2009 world tour” (Clearharmony)

With performances based on heroic legends and modern courageous tales, each performance has the spiritual heritage of China at its heart.

The artistry is superb, but just be aware that it's being used as a tool to propagate falun gong political agenda.
