Whilst blame for rumours of SARS hitting Chinatowns in the UK continues to be thrown back and forth amongst leaders of the UK Chinese community, Chinatown members are dismayed by the affect that this has had on their businesses. Reports say that 'Chinatown businesses are consumed by desperation and despair.' |

For the last two weeks, Chinatown has become a no go land for the Chinese. Rumors are rife up and down the UK within the Chinese community - the deadly virus SARS is said to have hit Chinese businesses, and now is seems that something more deadly is hitting our community. |

This month is the 10th anniversary of the death of Stephen Lawrence.
One of most famous victims of a racial attack in Britain, the tragic death of Stephen Lawrence brought about a string of government initiatives after the Macpherson inquiry severely criticised the police for its handling of the Stephen Lawrence murder investigation.
Dimsum marks this anniversary by looking at inter racial relations in the UK in the past ten years. Over the next month, we will bring you interviews and articles about Chinese people in the arts, politics and social groups who are striving forward for the Chinese community.
