Yu Dan, professor of media studies at Beijing Normal University, is celebrated in China for a series of lectures on Confucius broadcast on China Central Television. Her highly personal interpretation of Confucian thought was rapturously received. Yu Dan’s fresh, modern and controversial interpretation of Confucius reveals the wisdom that Confucius has to offer a new generation, showing how it is both highly relevant and very necessary in our complex modern world. Confucius From the Heart, gives us a contemporary Confucius, one who can teach us how to attain our spiritual happiness, adjust our daily routines and find our place in contemporary life.

Forgive my ignorance, what is the "correct" name for Confucius, isn't it a english or chinese name, I forgot its history. I read the Analects years ago its bit of a dogs dinner of a book no cohesive narrative and wanders all over the place with parts missings and repeated musings, not different from serious French philosophy, but its not without some very clever sayings. Where are the women in the book?
Even in his own day, Confucius was backward looking and conservative. Mostly ignored in the West, and perhaps badly presented? Will be interesting to see a modern woman attempting to wring something relevant out of him.
