BBC Concert Orchestra - "Music & Chance" Concert
Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre, London
7:30pm / Tuesday 17th February 2009

Great composers. Great music inspired by the roll of the dice, the turn of the cards - in short, a night of complete chance!

Fung Lam was one of 12 leading composers commissioned by the BBC to contribute a minute-long piece of music (as part of one large musical ensemble), for a concert by the BBC Concert Orchestra with conductor Charles Hazlewood. Other composers involved in this innovating project include Anne Dudley, Paul Patterson, Tansy Davies, Rabih Abou-Khalil, Gwilym Simcock, as well as Will Gregory and the Pet Shop Boys. The concert will also feature works by composers such as Mozart, Schnittke, Colin Matthews and Stravinsky - who have made use of chance in their own music.
