Anyone know what happen to the Chinatown - The Magazine now? cos I can't visit their website : www.chinatownthemagazine.com/ and I seems can't find any copy of the magazine now, only the info I found from this Dimsum
http://www.dimsum.co.uk/resources/media/
Chinatown - The Magazine
Chinatown - The Magazine is a bimonthly publication, in English, that reaches out to the Chinese community in Britain. It is for the new generation of British born Chinese who want to know more about the culture of their parents and grandparents. It is for the new Chinese migrants who want to understand more about the Chinese Community in Britain. And it is also for people from other cultural backgrounds who have an interest in East Asian culture. |

For that matter, what happened to The Pearl Award website? That also does not exist, as the awards themselves no longer do (except maybe as a sub category for the Adult Film Industry Awards)...
The Pearl Awards were a good idea, but their demise in my opinion is partly due to the fact that sadly they were not impartial, which led to them losing credibility. Awards for mates and not for merit, is a recipe for no one caring about them. Which, simply,is what has happened. Perhaps the real question should be why has no one from the community made more of an outcry about these awards being lost and why is there no clamour for a replacement? Surely it couldn't be Chinese community apathy? |
